Last night, the U.S. Senate passed a resolution calling for the National Anthem to be sung in English. Last week, as reported by Illinois Review, the Illinois House passed a similar resolution.
Today, ABCNews.com is running a video of federal lawmakers who were asked to spontaneously belt out the national anthem here. (Yes, we realize Howard Dean is not a federal lawmaker, but hey, he's singing.)
Unfortunately, none from the Illinois Congressional delegation are included in the ABC News clip.
The whole controversy does cause one, however to speculate. . . and ABC News asked the question IR would if we could: Could our Illinois legislators spontaneously -- and with gusto -- sing our national anthem with no cue cards or cheat sheets?
Just who, among our Illinois lawmakers do you think would be the most likely to be able to 1) sing the national anthem in tune and 2) sing it with the lyrics in tact?
