"Life's a journey . . . Enjoy the trip."
If you're looking for a chance to sit back and chuckle for a couple of hours with your kids, go see the full length cartoon "Cars" this weekend.
The colorful Disney flick which tells of the dramatic change a little town's characters (one voiced by Paul Newman) had on a rookie championship race car ("Lightning McQueen" voiced by Owen Wilson) was absolutely charming and delightful.
But more importantly, "Cars" has a radical moral principle that would behoove us Illinois conservative political addicts to learn: It's more important how you win than winning itself. Or in more traditional terms, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Go see Cars. You'll have as much fun as one of the story characters did when he said, "I'm havin' more fun than a tornado in a trailer park. . ."
And be prepared to stay for five minutes during the closing credits. It's worth the wait until the end. . . the sound track is great, too . . . (I especially liked James Taylor's "Our Town" and Brad Paisley's "Find Yourself" . . .)
I give this Disney feature two dipsticks up. I came out of the movie thinking life is grand in Illinois . . . if that isn't a recommendation, I don't know what is.
