Early Saturday morning, Illinois Review had a Hard D visitor comment on yesterday's "Fight Corruption. Fire Blagojevich" posting.
You need to read it yourself if you need to be energized to write checks and/or knock on doors for GOP candidates this summer and fall.
While millions of dollars are being raised for television ads and expensive mailings, there's absolutely no question that this year's battle for a red or blue Illinois will be a ground war. . . with passionate, motivated political warriors on the streets and getting out the right votes.
Don't miss "Dark Blues'" trash talk predicting Blago, Bean and Duckworth's wins in November. . .
You fools!
Rod Blagojevich has taken a no new taxes pledge to not raise the state income tax and sales tax during his 2nd term. Blagojevich has proven he can be trusted to keep his word since he has not raised income nor sales taxes during his first term!
Judy Baar Topinka has proven she is untrustworthy with her phony proposal. Just read what the Family Taxpayers Network says about it. Oh, and did I forget to mention that Judy Baar Topinka will not take the no tax hike pledge that Rod Blagojevich has taken?
The 2006 election will be proof, if any more is needed, that Illinois is truly a Dark Blue state. When the Democrats sweep the statewide offices, and Todd Stroger is elected Cook County Board President, the effects downballot will be felt all across Illinois, especially in the suburbs, including:
Congresswoman Melissa Bean's re-election in the 8th district -- and if you don't believe me, look at her fundraising disclosure her campaign released yesterday.
Tammy Duckworth's victory over Peter Roskam -- when those new ads the DCCC has on the internet hits TV this fall, Duckworth will smoke ol' DeLay protege' Roskam.
Dennis Hastert will resign from Congress after the Republicans lose the majority in the U.S. House. He won't even take the oath of office in January, allowing party bosses, and not voters, to replace Hastert in Congress (either Tom Cross or Tim Schmitz). This will only pave the way for Linda Chapa-LaVia's election to Congress in the 14th district in 2008, given Republicans like Jim Oberweis and Chris Lauzen will fight the party bosses' choice in the March 2008 primary.
And nationwide, Senators like Rick Santorum, Mike DeWine and Jon Kyl will be defeated, too, and their seats will go Democrat. The last of the 1994 U.S. Senate freshman class will be out of office.
HAW! HAW! HAW!
