The McSweeney campaign is calling today for his 8th Congressional opponent Melissa Bean to pull the plug on "misleading" political ads funded by the U.S. Chamber.
"[The ads] are spreading false information and giving false hope to small business owners who may believe that Melissa Bean has solved their problem when in fact it does not exist," said McSweeney. "Melissa Bean did vote for the bill that she is given credit for in the ad but the irony is that minutes before she voted for the motion to 'recommit' or kill the bill."
McSweeney also points out in today's press release that the U.S. Chamber is paying for the Bean ads in exchange for her vote in support of CAFTA, despite the freshman's prior commitment to unions she would not support "NAFTA-like" policies.
