Wow, I hope the Daily Herald's John Patterson's conclusion below about last night's House budget debate is not true. But after speaking with a few Republican lawmakers about their thoughts on the budget, it very well could be. . . and that's very disappointing and anti-Republican . . .
The debate over the House budget plan boiled down to this: Republicans were concerned about state union raises, protecting state jobs and spending on education and social service programs. Democrats stressed the state can live within in its means if wise financial management is utilized.
