The new Southtown-Star combo editors have moved my bi-weekly "Always Right" column to Thursdays. In today's "Prince Charming may not show up for Republicans" I confess that I'm still one of the undecideds on the presidential race. I know, I know . . . I have my reasons. . .
Several months ago, a Rudy Giuliani staffer tried to coax me into supporting his boss for president. Being a staunchly pro-life, anti-illegal immigration and pro-traditional marriage conservative, I just shook my head. "Sorry, can't do it," I said.
"Come on," he replied, "Rudy's promised to lead in the fight on terrorism and to appoint strict constructionist judges. He'll reinforce the border and encourage traditional families. You really should give him a chance."
My answer surprised even me. "You're asking me to kiss a frog," I said, "and I'm just not convinced he'll be a Prince Charming."
