This past Sunday, parishioners at Holy Name Cathedral who were attending Easter Sunday Mass were rudely interrupted by six anti-war activists who splashed fake blood on themselves and those unfortunate enough to be sitting near them.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the "protesters were all charged with felony criminal defacement of property and two counts of simple battery for defacing church property and the worshipers' clothes with the fake blood." Cardinal George had a great response to this foolish act by saying, "It's an act of violence to come among a group of believers and try to manipulate worship to your own purposes, no matter how noble and good they are."

The irony shouldn't be lost on us -- a group of anti-war radicals disrupting a peaceful religious service by resorting to violence and bullying in order to promote their message. Of course, their childish actions certainly didn't endear people to their cause.
The hijacking and manipulation of a religious service is an outrage, made even worse by the physical assault and damage to private property by those who squirted fake blood in the church. There is no good reason for this bad behavior. Here's video:
