Now Barack Obama is facing a new "Balls of Fury" controversy and taking a paddlin' for getting state money for -- and we're not kidding here -- Killerspin, a ping pong tournament promotion company owned by Obama's employer Chicago entrepeneur Robert Blackwell, Jr in 2002. At the time of the state fund request, Obama was a state senator. From the LA Times Sunday story:
With support from Obama, other state officials and an Obama aide who went to work part time for Killerspin, the company eventually obtained $320,000 in state grants between 2002 and 2004 to subsidize its tournaments.
