From Duckworth campaign to ACLU to Civil Union legislation . . . the trek of a liberal Illinois activist. Not only are the gay activists pulling in senior citizens who want to marry but not lose their deceased spouse's Social Security benefits, they're reaching out to Duckworth fans as well as ACLU supporters as seen in the verbatim letter below.
Traditional marriage defenders aren't paranoid in their effort to expose and fight this civil union fraud being perpetrated on trusting souls who are being used to advance the radical homosexual rights agenda.
Don't believe us? Read for yourselves an email sent far and wide late last week:
Hello Friends:
I met you while working on the Tammy Duckworth Campaign in 2006, before moving on to the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois to work on behalf of fair treatment for all persons in our state. Working together, we have an opportunity to create real change in Illinois. YOU can help make history by raising your voice and urging your legislators to make Illinoisthe first Midwest state to pass Civil Union legislation. Send a note to your state legislators today urging them to take a Stand For Fairness.
Many Illinois families suffer real harms because of the denial of basic legal protections. All over Illinois, lesbian and gay couples and their families are denied a universally recognized legal status. Gay and lesbian Illinoisans have been turned away from hospital visiting rooms, denied pension and healthcare benefits and refused the ability to make life saving medical decisions for their partner or bury their loved one with dignity– despite deep, emotional personal commitments and relationships that have stood the test of time. Help us win fairness for these families by contacting your legislator.Done Clicking For Fairness? Come meet with your legislator in person! Sign up to visit with your legislator in Springfield on Wednesday, May 21st, by emailing nrutan@aclu-il.org.
