(Lombard, IL) - "On Monday, tens of millions of Americans across this country will honor the memory of those who have given their life in defense of our nation and our freedoms," said Steve Sauerberg, M.D., candidate for U.S. Senate. "Dick Durbin, however, has chosen to spend Memorial Day raising money for his political campaign. This is a new low, even for Dick Durbin."
The Galena Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a fundraiser for Durbin on Monday night in Galena, Illinois (Durbin to visit Galena, Chamber reaches out to Durbin). "Instead of honoring the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation, Dick Durbin is shaking the trees for money. It is clear the man has no shame whatsoever," said Sauerberg.
"I understand the importance of Memorial Day, and I intend on spending Monday honoring America's fallen heroes," concluded Sauerberg.
Sauerberg established a pattern of publicly honoring our troops early in his campaign. Last September 11, he met with MoveAmericaForward.org . . .
