Update 2x: Those who've been fighting this outrageous gambling expansion are telling me that as fast as they can read HB 2651 they've determined that it is actually a bigger gambling expansion than HB 2650 was that passed the House Gaming Committee yesterday.
Update 1x: The Senate just passed HB 2651 -- the huge gaming expansion revenue bill -- with 11 YES votes from Republican senators Pam Althoff, Dan Cronin, Kirk Dillard, John Jones, Dave Luechtefeld, Bill Peterson, Christine Radogno, Dale Righter, Dale Risinger, Dave Syverson and Minority Leader Frank Watson.
The 7 Democrats that voted against the bill adding new casinos and putting slot machines at horse racing tracks were John Cullerton, Michael Frerichs, Linda Holmes, Dan Kotowski, Duane Noland, Jeff Schoenberg and Heather Steans.
The bill passed with 32 Yes, 18 Nos and 5 Presents: Collins, Maloney, Meeks, Munoz and Sandoval, all Chicago Democrats.
The $31 billion capital bill HB 6339 passed with 51 yes votes, 4 Presents and 1 NO vote -- that of State Senator Chris Lauzen (R-Aurora).
