Sunday, Temple Texas' Daily Telegram reported on Saturday's homecoming for our son-in-law's 4th Infantry division staff return from Baghdad to their Ft. Hood U.S. Army home base.
If this was an Illinois military base, you could bet Barack Obama would somehow be given credit for this. The new commander-in-chief promises to pull US troops out of Iraq in "an orderly way." Fact is, it's something that was already in the works months before Obama was elected. From the Telegram's report:
... Thompson stood in the middle of the celebration with a big smile on his face.
“We are ecstatic,” Thompson said. “We’re home. The division is coming home. The community mobilized for us and that is absolutely unbelievable. This is just an incredible outpouring of support and we are very appreciative.”
The entire division is expected to be back on Fort Hood by the end of March.
