In 2006, the United Republican Fund worked hard to raise funds to elect six conservative Republicans to the Illinois General Assembly. In 2008, the URF worked even harder to elect eight conservative Republicans. Over those two election cycles, the URF handed over almost $500,000 to Republican candidates to build up the conservative caucus numbers in the Illinois General Assembly and at the same time, strengthen conservative grassroots activism. We're not just talk.
From the URF's perspective, those two efforts were just the beginning of a revival of the past successes we've has shared in the past 75 years. As you well know, those two elections were brutal for Republicans in Illinois, but we are proud that we had winners each year, and proud that we served Republicans well.
Then Reagan was elected in 1980 and 1984, then ten years later 1994 ... and the URF was there. We are blessed with a rich history of defending conservative Republican values, and believe those conservative principles are what makes the GOP foundationally different from the other guys.
We at the URF are optimistic that together we can help to turn around Illinois once again. But we need you as a conservative to help us this time by attending this week's 75th Anniversary Dinner featuring Michelle Malkin. The cost of that ticket will be an investment in the conservative Republican movement and will relay your commitment and appreciation to the hard-working, tax-paying base of the Republican Party.
Please let us know you'll be there to celebrate 75 years with the URF and welcome fellow corruption fighter Michelle Malkin Thursday night. You can find more info at www.unitedrepublican.com.
