The London Times reported on Nov. 29 that:
"SCIENTISTS at the University of East Anglia (UEA) have admitted throwing away much of the raw temperature data on which their predictions of global warming are based."
"It means that other academics are not able to check basic calculations said to show a long-term rise in temperature over the past 150 years."
"The UEA’s Climatic Research Unit (CRU) was forced to reveal the loss following requests for the data under Freedom of Information legislation."
"The data were gathered from weather stations around the world and then adjusted to take account of variables in the way they were collected. The revised figures were kept, but the originals — stored on paper and magnetic tape — were dumped to save space when the CRU moved to a new building."
Columnists in The New York Times are saying today that the Climate emails from English scientists who are warming advocates is not a big deal and there is "no smoking gun?" Baloney. There are smoking guns all over the world on this story. Five Australian MPs have resigned from their government minister posts because they cannot in good conscience support a carbon tax based on fake data. Did US news programs even hint at the big overseas story? No, too much Tiger Woods news to report?.
Can you imagine the outcry from Al Gore if any oil company scientists said they had lost original data? He would scream "cover up" in a heart beat. But the faking of climate warming data in England and New Zealand is getting to be a big story in the international press and that might make it more difficult for USA media pundits who worship at the altar of global warming claims to ignore the story too much longer. We will soon find out how long they can stonewall against the new inconvenient truth of fake warming data.
