Sheila Simon teaches at the Southern Illinois University Law School in Carbondale, and is the daughter of the late U.S. Senator - and lieutenant governor - Paul Simon. The source says that's one reason Quinn wants Simon on the ticket, for a lineage that speaks to government reform. Another reason: geographic diversity. All other Democrats running statewide live in the Chicago area.
