Jeffrey L. Junkas (R-Tinley Park), Republican candidate for State Representative in the 37th District, issued the below statement regarding the Illinois State Chamber of Commerce’s recently issued legislative ratings, reflecting votes by legislators that help foster a positive state economy as viewed by employers. The long-time incumbent, Kevin McCarthy (D-Orland Park), owns a failing, 42 percent rating the past decade.
“My opponent’s dismal, failing record of supporting job creators and economic growth in Illinois during the past decade is part of the reason our state has record unemployment and has lost hundreds of thousands of jobs.”
“One of my campaign pillars has been job creation and in my primary endorsement, the Chicago Tribune said ‘Junkas understands what small business owners need to grow.’ It’s time we say enough and give new leaders the chance to do a better job.”
