I don’t care whether someone has new “evidence” that “proves” President Obama wasn’t born in the United States. We've heard the debates for 2+ years, it hasn't changed anything and no one in authority has ruled in your favor. Move on.
I don’t care whether or not Trig Palin is Sarah Palin’s birth son. I’m assuming he is. Past that, I'm not going to dignify people that want to make a story out of this.
I don’t care if a staffer on a candidate’s campaign worked as a lobbyist for BP. There are thousands and thousands of lobbyists and pretty much every single campaign has a former lobbyist working for them. Besides, up until about four months ago, BP was a respectable company, who a lot of people would have been proud to work for.
I really don’t care if Lindsay Lohan spends 30 days, 30 weeks or 30 years in jail. Basically, I really don’t care about Lindsay Lohan. Added to that, I also don’t care about the daily activities of Mylie Cyrus, “Snookie” or Paris Hilton.
I don’t care if Congress has some great idea about the NCAA Football playoff system. Most Congressmen couldn’t have played on their high-school’s 11-man football team if they were in a graduating class of 10 students.
I don't care if Barack Obama is going to appear on "The View". It will make Whoopi and the gals happy. Besides, it just means that there will be one less hour that Obama can sit around and think up new ways to destroy the economy.
I don't care that "Paul the Octopus" predicted the winner of the Soccer World Cup. However, I understand that the Iranian President is really upset at this, so I find it funny.
Here is what I DO CARE ABOUT!!!
I care that unemployment is at pretty close to record levels. Aside from what is reported to being the unemployment rate, there are a ton of people that have given up and they don't even appear on the "official" unemployment rate.
I care that in addition to the unemployed, there are tons of people (like myself) that are working for far less than I did a couple of years ago, and their savings have dwindled down to almost nothing. Many more people today are only one bad event away from really desperate times.
I care that there are forces in the world that want nothing more than to destroy our nation and our way of life and we are doing little to protect ourselves.
I care that our nation's debt is spiraling out of control and the people that we have entrusted to steer this, the greatest nation on the planet, appear to be oblivious about it.
I care that after decades of politicians getting caught with their hand in the cookie jar, we have greed and corruption on the scale of Rod Blagojevich.
I care that with the greatest scientific minds in the world, we are led around like a steer by a nose ring by those that want to say that our world is going to turn into a fireball of global warming, and they can't be bothered by the facts.
But most of all, I care that we have a society that focuses on all of the sensational and trivial things in life instead of those things that really matter.
The elections this fall WILL matter. Our nation is at a perilous point. We need leadership. We need adults in Washington, DC and we need adults in Springfield. People like this guy or this one. We don't need goofy adds that focus on the trivialities of the races. We need solid discussion about how our country and our nation moves forward. We need politicians that will be grown ups. More importantly, we need an electorate that will demand that our politicians and leaders be grown ups instead of telling us everything we want to hear and promising us things that they can't deliver.
