As noted here, some have been very critical of Barack Obama’s decision to appear on a daytime television program, where he will be slobbered on by a panel consisting of:
- Two comediennes, one of who said last week that she would always love Obama, “no matter what he does,” and the other of whom, Sherri Shepherd, may not know that the earth is not flat
- An foul-mouthed actress, Whoopi Goldberg
- A pompous, superannuated diva of the dinosaur media, known to be smitten with Fidel Castro, Barbara Walters, who I think at one time, long before way one face lift too many, could actually move her mouth naturally
- The token “conservative,” Elisabeth Hasselback, a former reality show contestant with a degree in fashion design, who makes a blowup doll look like a hard intellect
It’s easy to scoff at this embarrassing and obviously politically motivated spectacle, but can this passel of silly women really be anymore fawning that the supposed “serious journalists” who have been panting after this clown for years? May I remind you that it was such a member of the 4th estate (5th column), Lynn Sweet, a reporter for what some call a “major metropolitan newspaper,” who in January, 2007, lamented being unable to follow Barack Obama into the locker room, for reasons she’s never explained, after seeing him at her Chicago health club?
Let’s drop the pretense that there is any difference between the self-important, group think, clueless news hounds in the LSM and the gals on “The View.” They are all in the tank for the One, and neither group would ask him the questions we’d like to see him asked. Here are some examples.
Last week on this network, in response to a question about the economy, you stated that you and Michelle aren’t that far removed from the average American. Respectfully, Sir, you and your wife reported an annual income last year of over $5.6 million, and Michelle recently reserved 30 rooms at a 5-star hotel for a mother-daughter trip to Spain. It is our understanding that next month, you and your family will return to Martha’s Vineyard for a stay at a resort where rates are $35,000-$50,000 a week, more than many average Americans earn in a year. With these facts in mind, can you clarify what you meant by not being that far removed from the average American’s circumstances?
- Speaking of the economy, back in February, 2009, you insisted that it was urgent that Congress pass your stimulus bill immediately, so urgent in fact that many members of Congress didn’t have time to read the bill, lest unemployment go above 8%. Unemployment has remained well above 8% for over a year. You and members of your administration regularly respond to criticism by saying some version of what you said last week, that “things could be much worse.” Is that the “change we can believe in” that you promised before the 2008 election?”
- Last week, you stated that you were “surprised, disappointed and angry” in August 2009 when Scotland decided to release the Lockerbie bomber. Yet, last Sunday, the Times of London published a letter written by deputy US ambassador Richard LeBaron stating that while your administration didn’t want al-Megrahi to be released,” nevertheless, “if he was to be released, they thought it was far preferable for compassionate release as opposed to the prisoner transfer agreement.” Will you release the letter as many are demanding? Do you think it’s important to show compassion toward a terrorist who murdered 187 Americans?
- Has Eric Holder decided where to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed yet? Where would you like to see the trial held?
- What do you think of the idea of putting a mosque at Ground Zero?
- Your administration sued the state of Arizona to invalidate a law that is nearly identical to the federal immigration law, because, as Governor Brewer states, that law is not being enforced. Your Justice Department explained using a word that has been repeated by you, your press secretary, and Mr. Axelrod, that we can’t have a “patchwork” of immigration policies. If that’s true, why hasn’t your Justice Department taken any action against the many supposed “sanctuary” cities in the United States?
I have many more questions for Sham WOW (Walks on Water), all of which I am confident he will never be asked. Not on “The View,” or on “Meet the Press.” What would you ask?
