If there is a potential upset in the works anywhere in the U.S. on November 2, it could be in Illinois' 9th CD. Republican Joel Pollak and his wife Julia's introductory tv ad hits the airwaves today.
Pollak has appealed to a wide array of independents and conservatives in the northern Chicago district, and has shrewdly reached out with his message of reform to national cable news venues as well as local bloggers. The district is being bombarded with door knockers and volunteer phone bank calls.
Incumbent Jan Schakowsky, part of Congress' radical leftists Democratic Socialist caucus, has never been so threatened.
