The Tribune reports about the thousands of Obama/Giannoulias/Quinn fans that turned up at the University of Chicago's Midway Plaisance Saturday night, writing:
Gov. Pat Quinn, locked in a tough battle with Republican state Sen. Bill Brady of Bloomington, and other Democrats on the statewide ticket used the rally to make a late-campaign pitch. They want the city's powerful Democratic base to go to the polls to swamp a growing tide of independent voters who appear to be flocking to Republican candidates.
And here's Quinn's notable quote:
"In 2008, we changed the guard in America," Quinn said. "And in 2010, we're going to guard the change."
