There must be some very nervous Democrats (or maybe we shouldn't assume it's Dems, but more like teens playing Halloween tricks) but voters in the southwest suburbs' 37th House District have been getting irritated at campaign signs being torn down, and now they are getting late night campaign phone calls, supposedly coming from Republican House candidate Jeffrey Junkas' campaign.
Junkas said he filed a police report with the Tinley Park Police on the harassing calls and the police encouraged anyone getting those calls to dial *57 to trace the calls and report to their town's police department to lodge a harassment complaint.
"We’re working to get the word out that this is not us and I clearly respect people’s personal time and we’ve never called that late," Junkas said. All his campaign's calling ends by 7:30 pm at the latest, with most by 6 pm.
"The my opponent and his chief advocates are running scared and it shows," Junkas said. Junkas is challenging 14 year Democrat incumbent State Rep. Kevin McCarthy of Orland Park.
