Today I received two mailers from the Lake County Democratic Party and their Illinois Victory Project (which is a cheap rip-off of the Illinois Victory Centers, run by the GOP). Both of the mailers had essentially the same tact. One compared Mark Kirk, Mike Labno and Alexi Gianoulias, except it played up Mike Labno the Libertarian candidate. The second involved 14th Congressional Candidate Randy Hultgren compared to CommunistGreen Party candidate Dan Karis and Democrat candidate Bill Foster. Again, the mailer played up the Communist Green Party candidate.
The message to voters is basically, "yeah, we know you don't want to vote for the Democrat, but maybe you should vote for the 3rd Party candidate." The Democrats have zero ideas and their candidates are trailing badly. So, the only thing the Democrats can do is to manipulate the voters. The donkeys have put out so many nasty ads that the voters are starting to hate their candidates. If they can get undecided voters to vote for the 3rd Party candidate, its the next best thing. Not surprising that this comes from the group that is led by Terry Link. Yes, Mr. Ethics, Terry Link. Senator Link has failed to get any attention outside of Lake County, so having the Lake County Democrats send out mailers to Kane County must be his latest attempt.
