The difference between just a good night for Republicans on Nov. 2 and a truly historic and stupendous night all hinges now on the GOP turnout and keeping the enthusiam a high as it is today for the next seven days. Today's USA TODAY/Gallup Poll summary finding is this:
"Meanwhile, 63% of Republicans and Republican-leaning registered voters say they are more enthusiastic about voting this year than usual, the biggest advantage for either party on this key measure in any midterm election since Gallup began asking the question in 1994. Then, Republicans had a 9-point enthusiasm advantage in a year (1994) that Democrats lost control of the U.S. House and Senate. Now, the enthusiasm gap is 26 points in favor of the GOP! The marching orders are simple, the sale has mostly been made, but to finally close the deal GOP volunteers at all levels have to keep the enthusiasm going for one more week.
