MOLINE - With the Cook County judge's decision to throw out Illinois' 2011 Amazon Tax law, the discussion about internet tax acquisition is on the table once again. The judge's decision is likely to be appealed, but the law and its enforcement is now in limbo.
Last November, Illinois Policy Institute called for the suspension of the Affiliate Nexus law, and interviewed Moline businessmen affected by the law's passage. Brick and mortar businesses want the tax for all retail businesses, online businesses and free market orgs don't.
