WHEATON – The Friends of Jeanne Ives campaign is pleased to announce that several prominent organizations have endorsed Ms. Ives (Republican) in the race for State Representative District 42.
The United Republican Fund (URF), Illinois Federation for Right to Life (IFRC PAC) and Association of Builders and Contractors, Inc. notified the campaign of their support for and endorsement of Jeanne Ives this week.
A West Point graduate and Wheaton City Councilwoman, Ives’experience and character earned her the endorsement of the United Republican Fund. The URF bases candidate selection on several criteria, including candidates’response to a questionnaire which “provides Illinois voters a complete picture of where the candidates stand on critical issues facing our state.”
Dennis LaComb, Executive Director of URF, stated, “Any candidate unwilling to be honest and transparent about the issues is simply not qualified to serve the people of this great state ... Those who have been given the public trust must be held to a higher standard.” The URF congratulated Ives and all the endorsed candidates for the respect they’ve shown voters, and encouraged them to continue to exhibit leadership.
A second endorsement came from Illinois Federation for Right to Life PAC, the largest grassroots pro-life organization in Illinois, which works to restore respect for all human life in our society. In a press release about the endorsement IFRL – PAC stated, “Not only has Ms. Ives expressed a desire to protect unborn children, but has also indicated her support for the disabled as well as those who are endangered at the end of life.”
Finally, Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc., an organization that advances the merit shop construction philosophy, which encourages open competition and a free-enterprise approach that awards contracts based on merit, endorsed the pro-business candidate, stating, “If elected, you obviously understand the critical impact your decisions will have on the ability of merit shop contractors to compete in the marketplace … Also, we understand that, given the political power of organized labor in our state, your support of our viewpoints means that you have been willing to take political risks that sometimes go unrecognized. On behalf of ABC and its members, we thank you.”
Jeanne Ives is honored to have received endorsements from these reputable and active political organizations. She stated, “I understand the work that needs to be done in Illinois. The people and organizations who have supported me believe in my ability to get the job done. I will not forget the values and priorities of those I represent. I will advocate for them at every decision point.”
A well-respected and active member of the Wheaton City Council, her tenure in public service has been marked not only by conservative leadership and an unwavering commitment to the taxpayers’ bottom line, but also by standing up to political apathy, rigidity and obscurity.
