BLOOMINGDALE - Dave Rogers, a voter in Illinois' northwest suburban 8th CD, will be flying to Los Angeles for a rare chance to hear his district's Democrat candidate Tammy Duckworth speak in person, compliments of the Illinois Republican Party. The Joe Walsh for Congress campaign announced Wednesday. Rogers of Bloomingdale won a round-trip ticket and one night's hotel stay after entering a contest by making a donation to the Walsh campaign.
"We wish people like Dave didn't have to go so far to hear Tammy Duckworth," the Walsh campaign said, "but since she turned down 10 debate offers from organizations representing voters, she hasn't really given them much of a chance."
Unlike Tammy, Walsh's press release said, "Joe isn't running to earn votes in California or to earn the approval of the liberal elite." Walsh has hosted more town halls than any member of Congress. "He's done everything he can to make himself accessible to voters like Dave Rogers."
