CHICAGO - The Chicago Teachers Union is upset that Mayor Emanuel has a plan to shut down 100 Chicago Public Schools next year, promising a five-year moratorium therafter on school closings. School shutdowns mean loss of union members. The CTU says the schools should stay open although the CPS system is 100,000 students under operating capacity.
EAGNews caught on record a phone interview with Chicago Teachers Union Vice President Jesse Sharkey verbally squirming when WLS 890AM's Dan Proft and Bruce Wolf ask about Sharkey's attendance and participation in a recent Marxist conference at Northwestern University.
Sharkey first denies attending, then turns resists, claiming the show's hosts are using McCarthy-like techniques on him.
