Frankly, it wouldn't matter if Republicans held the House, Senate and presidency along with the Supreme Court. You are destined for minority status through your bleary pursuit of ambiguity. A complete crisis of confidence as it were. The Democrats will always maintain the upper hand over the GOP in the battle for America's inner self because they know exactly what they want. The GOP only knows what it doesn't want. The Left's manifesto is their mission statement and their mission statement encourages misdirection through sacramental relativism. They have been given permission by their philosophers and priests to do what it takes to get the job done and that's an awful lot of latitude through the grays that survive between black and white.
You Republicans hold no such advantage over your political adversaries. You lack the liberty to deceive. Don't misunderstand. It's not that Republicans are more foundationally ethical, mind you. Rather, you are bound by the limits of Judea-Christian ethicism and this holds you back from the power to rule with an iron fist. When a Republican lies or cheats, there is a very real sense that his actions are worse because it is his job to be principled. Dems are simply not held to such old fashioned morality.
Climate change greatly illustrates this theory since the initiative is high on the Dem's list of to-dos as a result of their big win in early November. The beat goes on so to speak. As the doleful requiem of environmental impact reverberates through every word they utter, every extra-constitutional regulation they pass, we begin to understand their absolute disregard for truth because "commandment one" which thrums through their manifesto hymnal like a dirge for humanity's redemption specifically forbids absolute truth and tolerates conditional truth as a paradigm of their own choosing.
A for instance. I see a news story on the TV about the expected proliferation of mosquito borne diseases such as malaria, encephalitis…the plague…in less developed nations because of the rise in Co2 levels created by fossil fuel emissions in the world's more industrialized countries. I think to myself, "A mosquito population explosion? Hmmm. Perhaps they should try spraying the little buggers? No? Oh. Right. New international regulations forbid spraying in those eco-fragile areas of the world because of its impact on the environment, so instead the UN passes out mosquito nets…which are apparently incredibly effective based our most recent plague warnings."
Now, regulating and limiting pesticide usage, ask anyone at the UN – that naturally has no impact on mosquito populations. Don't be pedantic. It's most likely America's free markets that are to blame. These environmental regulations that will supposedly save mankind from certain extinction will actually lead to the death of thousands if not millions of people, but at least the ecology will stabilize.
Many will die. I cannot emphasize this word enough. Internalize it for your own mental health…plague. Plague is coming to a civilization near you. All in a day's work when it comes to the great thinkers of the environmental brigade.
Another for instance if you will. I see an IMAX film entitled The Last Reef while on vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday, and why the title of the film doesn't clue me into the wonderment of three-dimensional propaganda? I just do not know, but the film really helps me to appreciate the dying coral reefs that would be perfectly healthy and living in synergetic bliss were it not for the rise in Co2 levels created by fossil fuel emissions in the world's more industrialized countries in a way that I had not previously considered.
Oh. You should have seen the marine life living in complete peace and harmony except for the human destruction of their environment. Mantas and sharks swimming symbiotically with all those little fishies...never once were they ever tempted to reach out and snag a little snack. (My understanding is that the sharks on the reef are uniquely vegetarian, almost vegan really.) Sea turtles floating about with nary a natural predator in sight and clown fish dancing in and about their sea anemones never even feeling a sting of retribution because that's just how life is on the coral reef. A veritable Shangri La.
But our Co2 emissions - you must understand this. Our Co2 emissions are being absorbed by the sea water making the oceans insufferably acidic. That particular talking point is the entire raison for the film. Oooh-la-la. So I think to myself as is my way, "The acid levels are rising. But I have long been under the impression that the glaciers are melting and the sea levels are rising because of the Co2 levels created by fossil fuels in the world's more industrialized countries. Wouldn't that dilute the acid levels that are supposedly intensifying because of the Co2 levels that are ruining the planet? Which is it? Are the oceans rising and diluting or are they toxic watery wastelands of dead coral brought about by capitalistic greed?"
Oh, that darned ecosystem. So inept, so inflexible, so incapable of adaptation. However would the planet function without the great scientific reasoning of our master climatologists who fall over themselves in sagacious contradiction? What next? Is the earth flattening like a pancake because of the Co2 levels that are halting continental drift? Will we fall off the edge of the world if we sail west?
But what's a little contradiction among political adversaries? It's not important if the result is that we all feel like we are changing the world. At the insistence of our favorite environmental geniuses on the left, we will reduce our economic output and that will put all to right for the Great Barrier Reef, right? The standard of living for millions upon millions of people will be diminished. Many will live in squalor when squalor could and should be avoided. Many will die of disease and malnutrition.
Many will die.
And then there is my favorite for instance of all. Ken Burns. Our newest expert on the Great American Dust Bowl has a few choice words about the future of agriculture. "We are headed for a second dust bowl," says he. Yes, he did. I heard him say it with my own two ears as he was out and about drumming up enthusiasm for his taxpayer-funded docu-drama.
Because…? Because why? Oh, yeah. Right. Because the rise in Co2 levels created by fossil fuel emissions in the world's more industrialized countries are causing blight and famine. What other reason could there be? So I say to myself (as is my wont to do) "What are the odds that two separate and distinct "devastating dust bowls" would happen during two separate and distinct devastating depressions while under two separate and distinct New Deal expansions gifted to us by two separate and distinct ego-maniacal presidents? Coincidence? Statistically improbable coincidence? Eh. C'est la vie."
Maybe we should use some of that fancy-shmancy fertilizer and stave off the devastation?
Right. But the use of fertilizers and pesticides has been greatly reduced in this country and others because the use of said chemical solutions causes the rise in Co2 levels which brings about dust bowls…I mean, it is true that dust bowls never occur under Republican administrations in spite of their free-wheeling fertilizer usage, that much we know. Never mind that. I'm sure that another 3 trillion dollars, a new agency or two and a couple thousand new regulations that will ultimately reduce crop yields which will cause the malnutrition and death of millions ought to do the trick.
Many will die.
I know…let's make sure not to divert the yield from fuel into feed because as you know, biofuels will end climate change and that will save the barrier reefs and reduce mosquitos.
Is your head spinning yet? Then the Dems have got you where they want you. Democrats – seeking the secret of power over life and death by working against the most natural human instinct to protect humanity. That, my Republican friends, is how it is done. To paraphrase G.K. Chesterton:
Sinless high priests of pseudo-science worshipping sinless eco-gods, who accept as the nectar and ambrosia of their sunny paradise nothing but incessant human sacrifice accompanied by horrible torments.
Boy-oh-boy. Sign me up for four more years of that.
