Our nation is faced with a mountain range of serious, self-inflicted problems. We are damning future generations to suffocating debt, by choice. We are sacrificing precious American lives in far away lands under the very thin masks of "defense" or foreign relations. We take from the producer and use the ill-gotten gain to further erode the foundation of the country. We outsource the management of daily life to a far off bureaucracy. We move toward some variation of the life depicted in Orwell's "1984" without much resistance. We have almost entirely succumbed to the subtly deadly weapon of political correctness, which has been employed magnificently by the enemies of liberty.
I know the popular, at least among those who claim the elastic moniker, "conservative," solution would be to place our noses adjacent to the proverbial grindstone in support of Republican candidates. Of course, they are correct that none but Democrat or Republican candidates can win in the big elections (a situation they toil to perpetuate). Even so, electing Republicans has proven to be no solution, at least, not in itself.
The solution, not to every problem, but to an enormous portion is simple: Follow BHO! I don't claim that the simple would be at all easy to implement. Most people don't seem to like BHO, or at least BHO as related to their favorite issues. I will be the first to admit that a federal government dedicated to BHO would be very difficult to swallow.
Look at your children or your grandchildren. (Don't have children? Look at someone else's children.) Think about the society in which three or four generations from now will dwell. Consider what kind of person you want to be. Are you the kind of person to choose your comfort or your favored governmental action at the expense of your descendants? Really? Of course, we (no one alive today) started the descent into corruption and burdensome debt we will leave to our heirs. That does not give us the right to exacerbate the situation. If we are not entirely generation-ly (maybe not proper use of the English language) narcissistic, we have a moral obligation to at least stop the spread of the madness!
This is why I suggest that when a situation is presented for which the federal government or one of its pustules deems it could be beneficial to act, we follow BHO!
Consider the areas invaded by the seemingly infinite federal tentacles. Now consider if the federal tentacle has a legitimate, constitutionally sound claim in each area. Be careful to temper your consideration with the actual amended Constitution of the United States of America and not the spewings of Ministry of Truth reports or the oversteps of activist judges. When you find that you cannot find a legitimate claim for the federal tentacle, especially in a place you wish the tentacle to remain, how will you react?
I submit that the overwhelming majority of citizens (yes, even those who pay attention) would seek to rationalize or excuse their preferred extra-constitutional tentacles. Assuming that we do not all share a few favored oversteps, it is not likely that the Constitution could be amended to cover a few currently constitutionally off-limits issues in which the federal government has made a permanent infestation while the remaining untold number of infestations be starved and eliminated.
No, we don't really want to limit the scope of the federal government to one which is constitutionally sound. If we did, we would demand our federal government Follow BHO!
It occurs to me that the reader may be confusing the good BHO, for which I advocate, with the bad BHO, who exemplifies the very problem I lament. I do not recommend that we follow Barack Hussein Obama, but the general policy:
Butt the Hell Out!
