SPRINGFIELD - With State Treasurer Dan Rutherford in the gubernatorial race, the state Treasurer spot will be open in November 2014. No surprise here, but who handles the state's money is surely to be a race to watch in 2014.
Next November, State Senator Mike Frerichs of Champaign, who is a devoted fan of Barack Obama, will be facing the winner of the Republican primary between State Rep. Tom Cross and DuPage County Auditor Bob Grogan. All three candidates filed Monday morning.
