The Republican intelligentsia know that nothing is as poisonous to Republican electoral possibility as the dreaded "social conservative." Nothing dampens voter enthusiasm for Republican politicians like the stupid "social conservative" doing what he or she inevitably does.
The obnoxious expression of opinion on "social issues" can only be the dastardly work of the "social conservative." Voters will shun the "R" brand if candidates or anyone associated in any manner with the Republican Party call attention to issues such as homosexual marriage or, Mark Kirk forbid, abortion.
So maybe it's time real Republicans that uphold the state's platform dump the "social conservative" moniker on Judy. It looks like that curse is the only way we'll ever get her to retire on her multiple taxpayer-funded pensions.
For instance, the photo above (State Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka rides in a car for the 44th Annual Gay Pride Parade. — Nancy Stone, Chicago Tribune, June 30, 2013) catches Illinois Comptroller Judy Barf Topinka in one of her many displays of "social conservative" activity. Why are Illinois Republican leaders not hammering on her door and demanding she refrain from further expressions of her "social conservatism?"
Lectures abound, generously offered by sanctimonious blowhards seeking only to do what is best for the Republican Party, on the ills of bringing "social issues" into campaigning. Is the fledgling homosexual wedding flower girl dense? This high ranking "social conservative" has been in Illinois politics since at least 1994. Has she learned nothing besides how to pad her pension accounts with taxpayer labor?
How can one so frequently display such bold "social conservatism" as Judy and draw no rebuke from the party establishment? Perhaps the Republican leadership and the sanctimonious blowhards who warn of the dangers inherent with the campaign activity involving "social conservatives" are not as sage as they would have blog readers believe.
aI don't think most of them even realize that Barf Topinka, who Teri O'Brien aptly described in a recent Illinois Review comment ("I guess if you can't find a drag queen to serve as an attendant at your same-sex "wedding," why not a broad with a smoker's voice and a hair color never seen in nature?), is even a "social conservative!"
One might argue that Judy Barf Topinka is the antithesis of a "social conservative." One must be sadly mistaken. It is clear from the condescending verbal vomit spewed forth by Republican Party blowhards that it is none but the stupid, ill-informed, lower class, inadequately prepared for social interaction, knuckle-dragging, bible-thumping, judgmental, all around icky "social conservative" who brings up such issues during any campaign season.
Therefore Judy Barf must indeed be a "social conservative" and it is way past time that her fellow Republicans stop her "social conservative" crusade!
