SCHAUMBURG, IL - The Board Members, Precinct Captains, and Precinct Associates of the Schaumburg Township Republican Organization (STRO) voted Tuesday night to make the following endorsements in the Republican primary election on March 18, 2014:
- For United States Senator: James D. "Jim" Oberweis (ENDORSED) over Doug Truax
- For Illinois Governor (Lieutenant Governor) Bruce Rauner (Evelyn Sanguinetti) (ENDORSED) over Bill Brady (Maria Rodriguez), Kirk W. Dillard (Jil Tracy) and Dan Rutherford (Steve Kim)
- For United States Representative, 8th District Larry Kaifesh (ENDORSED) over Manju Goel
- For Judge, Circuit Court of Cook County, 13th Subcircuit, Gary W. Seyring (UNANIMOUSLY ENDORSED) over John Curry
No candidate achieved the 60% endorsement threshold in the race for Illinois Treasurer. All unopposed Republican candidates in other races were endorsed.
"We are fortunate this election cycle to have a number of terrific candidates to choose from," said Ryan Higgins, the Schaumburg Township Republican Committeeman. "I am grateful for the thoughtfulness with which our members approached these endorsements, and I look forward to working with the candidates to ensure Republican victories in November."
