EAST ST. LOUIS, IL - Democrat State Rep. Bob Rita (photo right) is launching the latest quest to broaden gambling in the state with a public hearing in southwestern Illinois. Rita is pushing a measure that would add five new Illinois casinos, as well as slot machines at Chicago's two international airports.
Gov. Pat Quinn has vetoed two previous gambling bills because he said they didn't include enough ethical protections. Quinn also has said he'll only sign legislation that provides adequate oversight of a Chicago casino.
