Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer asked Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL) Sunday morning if the litany of changes to the Affordable Care Act signalled a never-ending process of revision that would ultimately enervate the law.
“We now learned that the administration has told people—although they haven’t announced it publicly—that if you don’t like your health care you can just switch and get another one,” Schieffer said. “This thing just seems, every day and in every way, just seems more confused. Is there any hope in getting it straightened out?”
Durbin repeated the factually questionable line that Obamacare had already insured millions and slowed health care costs, and was projected to reduce the deficit. He also said there was “no going back on the law,” and that it would be extended.
