SPRINGFIELD – Members of the Illinois Farm Bureau held their annual government affairs leadership conference at the Capitol Wednesday. While local chapters distributed awards to lawmakers, State Sen. Sue Rezin (R-Morris) honored Illinois Farm Bureau President Philip Nelson, who is retiring after serving as president for the last ten years.
“President Nelson has been a lifelong, dedicated farmer and his involvement with the Illinois Farm Bureau has benefited from his commitment to the industry,” Sen. Rezin said. “His leadership has taken the Illinois Farm Bureau to new heights and he has laid out a clear vision for the future success of the organization.”
In recognition of her support as a state lawmakers, the DuPage County Farm Bureau awarded State Sen. Christine Radogno the “2013 Outstanding State Senator Award”.
