The midterm elections are just around the corner. While the memory of 2012 still looms in the minds of many conservatives, primary results may point to a better outcome in 2014.
Tom Minnery, president of CitizenLink, said it’s more about “reality” than the “ideal.”
“It’s all about compromise,” he said. “Sometimes people have to vote for something they don’t necessarily believe in over here in order to make advances on another issue.”
Minnery’s advice to those who may be worn out with the political scene: Stay with it!
“As we see events around the world, we realize this is a special country,” he said. “It is worth the frustration, worth the agony, worth the time to stay involved. For Christian people, it’s a duty because Romans 13 requires us to honor the governing authorities and voting is the threshold duty of citizens.”
