CHICAGO - U.S. Senator Dick Durbin and state Senator Jim Oberweis discussed issues Wednesday night on public broadcaster WTTW's Chicago Tonight.
Among the many topics discussed with show host Phil Ponce, Durbin opposed a travel ban for those coming to the U.S. from ebola-infected countries, Oberweis supported a ban. Durbin and Oberweis agreed competition should be a part of America's space program. The discussed National Football League's domestic violence controversy, and Durbin used the opportunity to blast the NFL's tax exemption.
Oberweis said the overall cost of health care should be brought down, but some policies adopted by ObamaCare should remain. Durbin said health care costs are slowing, and resisted any idea of repealing ObamaCare.
