CHICAGO - Political gadfly Bill Kelly announced he is ending his short-lived Chicago mayoral bid and will be donating the $100,000 in his campaign fund to his new organization.
Kelly blamed Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel (D), Governor-elect Bruce Rauner (R), Cook County GOP Chairman Aaron Del Mar, and Chicago GOP Chairman Chris Cleveland for his decision; accusing them of ineptitude and political corruption.
He said he will donate the money in his campaign fund to his new organization, which Kelly said would recruit "real reform candidates" and "build a real Chicago and Cook County Republican organization."
