In their typically clumsy manner, establishment Republicans are laboring to make the nomination of Jeb Bush seem "inevitable" in the media by following the playbook of Hillary Clinton in the other party. Or is it the same party? The one called the Republicrats or the Demoblicans?
Often in high school there was some kid running for Student Council who tried too hard for his own good to be popular for the sake of just being popular instead of trying to find out what the students really wanted. Ambition for ideas and principles is a noble effort but ambition for its own sake or for a family legacy is just sad. Not for the first time, K Street has made the wrong bet. The eternal wail of the RINOs is that the want someone who can "win" and yet they never seem sure why the want to win or what freedoms they will protect if they do win. Just having the letter R follow the name of a candidate is not a sufficient reason for the lovers of freedom to get motivated.
