WASHINGTON - Once again,' U.S. Senator Dick Durbin is close to endorsing a fellow Illinoisan for president. And while not yet officially supporting, Durbin said Monday he couldn't think of anyone more qualified to be the next president than Hillary Clinton.
“Hillary Clinton would be an extraordinary president,” Durbin told WBBM News. “She served as first lady, as United States senator, as secretary of state. I’ve known her and worked with her. I can’t think of anyone better qualified to lead this nation.”
Durbin endorsed Chicago attorney and U.S. Senator from Illinois Barack Obama for president in 2008 over Clinton.
Ms. Clinton was born in Chicago and raised in northwest suburban Park Ridge, Illinois, where she graduated from Maine South High in 1965.
