SPRINGFIELD - Monday night, the three Republican candidates for the 18th U.S. House District seat will present their views at a candidate forum at the State Journal-Register Building in Springfield.
The GOP candidates Darin LaHood, state senator from Peoria; Mike Flynn, a national writer from Quincy; and Donald Rients, a formed corrections officer from Benson, will be heard live beginning at 6 PM on WMAY Radio - one of the debate sponsors - or on SJ-R.com.
They are vying to succeed resigned Congressman Aaron Schock (R-Peoria) in the July 7th GOP primary. The winner will face the Democrat nominee on September 10th.
The panelists for Monday's debate will be SJ-R political writer Bernard Schoenburg, WMAY news director Jim Leach and Peoria Journal-Star political writer Chris Kaergard.
