CHICAGO - Over the weekend, 66 protesters were arrested outside Chicago's McCormick Place as #ChicagoRising and other Leftist groups objected to a police convention meeting in the center.
Protesters demanded police funding be cut and instead be sent to black community organizations. They took down the U.S. flag outside the convention center and replaced it with an "Unapologetically Black" flag that a Chicago firefighter replaced with a U.S. flag.
The conference with 18,000 police officers will conclude Tuesday - after hearing from President Barack Obama.
Saturday, #StoptheCops protests throughout the city included shouting anti-law enforcement chants like the one below:"Who killed Rekia?" "They did!" (pointing to Chicago cops) "And we're not supposed to be mad?"
