Thursday - fresh from the RNC debate in Colorado the night before - Presidential candidate and United States Senator Marco Rubio was in Chicago for a meet and greet and to raise money for his battle in the Republican Primary.
The event at Fairways started with opening remarks by Christopher Grozev who spearheaded this event. He introduced State Senator Michael Connelly who is leading the effort for Rubio in Illinois. Connelly then introduced newly-elected Illinois Congressman Darin LaHood who introduced Marco Rubio to a huge ovation.
Rubio gave a great presentation in which he says he is the best candidate to lead us into the 21st century and to beat Hillary Clinton. He was brimming with optimism and was interrupted multiple times from the enthusiastic crowd.
He shook hands, signed autographs, and posed for pictures, much to the excitement of the crowd. He headed off for another fundraiser then back to Iowa.
Rubio finished his remarks with this statement: "The country is ready for a generational change in leadership, to lead us into a new American century."
