Link: Obama once visited '60s radicals - Ben Smith - Politico.com.
They disappeared in 1970, after a bomb — designed to kill army officers in New Jersey — accidentally destroyed a Greenwich Village townhouse, and turned themselves into authorities in 1980. They were never prosecuted for their involvement with the 25 bombings the Weather Underground claimed; charges were dropped because of improper FBI surveillance. Both have written and spoken at length about their pasts, and today he is an advocate for progressive education and a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago; she’s an associate professor of law at Northwestern University. But — unlike some other fringe figures of the era — they’re also flatly unrepentant about the bombings they committed in the name of ending the war, defending them on the grounds that they killed no one, except, accidentally, their own members.
So, he visited these guys. Whoop-dee- doo. What did they talk about? Maybe he visited to tell'em they were a bunch of assholes. Or maybe he was doing research.
What's your point?
Just because I visit someone in the hospital, doesn't make me a doctor. A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make'em biscuits.
I wonder if Bush or McCain or any other right wing political figure ever visited someone controversial.
I swear, each election, it's the same ol' political crap. Rumours and extorted facts, from all sides. For once, you'd think people would give it a rest, but that's too much to ask for. Too many narrow minded people for that to happen I guess.

I suspect that lots of folks have visited them. Or are they hermits? innuendo is the haven of cowards. If you have an allegation, have the guts to make it

Since I've seen Bill Ayers speak at the University of Michigan School of Education (about 10 years ago or so), I wonder what the big deal is? Lots of '60s radicals are pretty reasonable people these days. Mark Rudd, another former SDS leader, teaches mathematics to impoverished kids in the Southwest. Ayers wasn't calling for revolution when he spoke in the '90s. And we might recall that despite GWB's rather spotty youth, he rose to be... Whoops, never mind. I guess we should flay Obama alive and all those damned radicals, too.

What about Ronald Reagen visiting the Nazi graveside while he was US president in order to pay his respects to Hitler's murdering cut-throats?
