SHOREWOOD, IL — Building on a controversial partnership forged when Trump convert former Gov. Rod Blagojevich appeared at a fundraiser for Trump-supporting Republican candidate for State Senate (Dist 49) Tom McCullagh, the unlikely pair is working together to "end corruption and unify the state."

“If [Tom McCullagh] gets elected to the state senate on the campaign that he’s been running,” Governor Blagojevich explained, “which has been anti-establishment, to clean up the corrupt system in Springfield, running against an established opponent who’s got the support of the Democratic party establishment behind her, and that party establishment is controlled by Mike Madigan… Tom will have a tailwhip behind him. He will have the voice of the people from his area.”

Following President Trump’s RNC nomination celebration that brought Former Governor Rod Blagojevich (D) and District 49 State Senate Candidate Thomas McCullagh (R) together for the first time, the two sat down with Gary Franchi on the Next News Network to solidify their bi-partisan bridge to help the people of Illinois.

On the horizon, however, Illinois is facing a roadblock. Failed leadership and fiscal mismanagement exhibited by the constitutional amendment being proposed this November – an effort called the Progressive Tax, funded by Governor JB Pritzker's personal funds.

McCullagh stated, “the progressive tax is going to tax the highest and the richest people in the state of Illinois, and all that’s going to do is make them move out of the state… they can take that tax bracket through a rules change, versus through a vote, and change the tax rate… There are no limits… JB doesn’t need any blank checks nor does Madigan need anymore blank checks.” Governor Blagojevich likened the tax amendment to a “Trojan Horse” that the Democratic party will “in the dark of night” increase the rate and brackets for more hard-working people as well.

In Governor Blagojevich’s opinion, the Democratic party has changed.

“I don’t recognize it now… The Democratic party once was the party that was the party of the middle class. It no longer is. Trump’s Republican party is filling that void, and is becoming the instrument that fights for the interests of the middle class.”
