CHICAGO – Within minutes of the U.S. Supreme Court announcing its 7 to 2 decision to protect a Christian baker's religious freedoms, Cook County Clerk David Orr sent out a tweet celebrating Cook County's LGBTQ community and the county's commitment to "stand against discrimination & inequality wherever it occurs."
Was Orr's declaration politically risky? Hardly. In the upcoming Cook County office races, the Cook County Republican Party is running only two challengers to the Democrat slate. One of the races is for Cook County Assessor and the other is for Cook County Sheriff.
No one is challenging David Orr – and that's because he's not running for re-election. Democrat candidate Karen Yarborough is unopposed. (H/T to Tweeter @BorninLXXXIII)
