Congressman Robert Dold (IL-10) was sworn back into office January 2015 after defeating one-term incumbent Democrat Brad Schneider in November 2014. Dold is facing re-election in November 2016, and like every other member of Congress, is in need of campaign contributions – preferably before the nearing December 31st reporting deadline.

While Dold stood firmly as one of the few Republican House members in support of taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood, despite reports of baby body parts selling, his campaign doesn't mention that in an email to supporters boasting his 2015 accomplishments:

"… Don’t just take my word for it," wrote James Slepian of the Dold campaign. "Here are 10 of Bob’s many accomplishments for the 10th District this year:"

  1. In the face of rising terror threats, Bob stood strong against the disastrous Iran Nuclear Deal and strengthened the Visa Waiver Program to help keep terrorists out of the United States.
  2. Bob knows that small businesses are the backbone of our economy. As the newest member of the Ways and Means Committee, Bob helped foster job growth by securing increased certainty for job creators and their employees.
  3. Bob isn’t waiting for Washington to jumpstart the economy. He hosted three job fairs with thousands of available jobs and introduced new legislation to move people from joblessness to the workforce.
  4. Turmoil in the Middle East has put Israel in constant danger. Bob stood proudly with our strongest ally and ensured we fully funded our security commitment to Israel. In March, Bob had the honor of escorting Prime Minister Netanyahu onto the House Floor.
  5. Bob has been a leading supporter of legislation to increase medical innovation. He ensured our researchers have the resources they need to discover cures for diseases like diabetes, cancer, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s.
  6. Medicare and social security both hit major milestones this year. Bob cemented his commitment to these programs and was a bridge builder in a historic, bipartisan deal to drastically improve seniors’ access to quality healthcare. Bob has also continued his forceful opposition to the $700 billion in cuts to Medicare programs under the Affordable Care Act.
  7. Bob believes that increased opportunity begins with education, which is why he launched the Tenth District Young Women’s Leadership Academy and was a leading voice in the passage of a major education reform law that will increase local control and decrease federally mandated testing.
  8. Bob successfully advocated for local priorities to preserve the Great Lakes and single-handedly introduced three bills that create strong protections for the environment.
  9. As a co-chair of the Suburban Anti-Heroin Task Force, Bob worked alongside local leaders to curb heroin abuse in our community and make it easier for First Responders to save lives.
  10. Bob worked hard to make sure our area remains a transportation hub for the entire nation. Thanks to his efforts and leadership, work is beginning that will shorten commute times, decrease congestion on highways, and keep our trains running on time.
