WILL COUNTY – An effort to declare independence from Chicago and Cook County corrupt politics is gaining momentum throughout Illinois as more and more the state's "red" counties declare public opposition to Chicago policies.
The anti-Chicago corruption movement goes back at least seven years – starting in Will County, Illinois.
Saturday, July 13th, State Rep. Brad Halbrook will speak at a town hall meeting in Sangamon County to discuss the growing "New Illinois" movement and will be joined by State Rep. Chris Miller.
And among others, David Campbell – the creator of the “Sanctuary County for Gun Owners” resolution – will update the crowd on the new initiative “VOID THE FOID” and will take questions from the audience.
The effort, which begins at 2:00 PM at Destiny Church at 2423 South MacArthur Boulevard in Springfield, will be free and open to the public.
In September of 2012, a group of Will County political activists and candidates signed a Declaration of Independence from Chicago and Cook County corruption. The effort evolved over the years, as many of those that signed the declaration are now elected officials and fighting Cook County and Chicago corruption from within the ranks. They are now county board, township board, state assembly members as well as business owners that continue to fight the good fight for taxpayers.
