CRYSTAL LAKE – Denise Smith, the owner of Smith Physical Therapy and Running Academy, says Governor Pritzker's plan to tax small businesses like hers up to 60 percent more means he hates small business. If Pritzker's Progressive Tax proposal changes the Illinois Constitution to remove the flat tax, there will be no cap to the state income tax rates Democrats will place on businesses like hers.
Smith is the fourth in a series of stories being rolled out by the No Progressive Tax Coalition, consisting of nearly 30 business organizations – from the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to the Technology & Manufacturing Association.
