PALOS PARK – The new COVID restrictions for Cook County that will take effect on January 3, 2022 are causing a firestorm of phone calls to Cook County Commissioner Sean Morrison's office he said in a statement Wednesday.
"Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle has mandated new COVID restrictions for Cook County which will go into effect on January 3, 2022. The order comes from the Cook County Department of Public Health, a department directly under the authority of President Preckwinkle," the statement says.
"My district office has received numerous constituent inquiries regarding these new COVID restrictions and their impact on children, specifically children's extracurricular activities. We have been made aware that some suburban park districts are now implementing COVID restrictions for children as a result of the new Cook County COVID Mandate," Morrison said.
The mandate was made by President Toni Preckwinkle and was not a board decision, Morrison said.
